About the pub
In April 2017 the Papermakers Arms became a free house for the first time in its 100+ year history!
Landlord Graham Perrin and Front of House Manager Rachel welcome you to the Papermakers Arms in the beautiful village of Plaxtol in Kent.
The Papermakers Arms is a relaxed, friendly country pub and restaurant serving great food using local and seasonal produce wherever possible. We keep a well stocked bar with local cask ales and beers, carefully selected wines and an extensive range of spirits, including 22 gins (at the last count)!
Our Head Chef Tim enjoys creating delicious menus and updates our Main Menu daily! We also have a lovely Set Lunch seasonal menu and our Sunday roasts are a specialty – not to be missed!
We host regular events including live music and cocktail evenings, show key sports events in the bar and the last Sunday of the month is Quiz Night! You may also like to know that we kick off the weekend with Happy Hour every Friday from 4-6:30pm.
We’d love for you to keep updated with our news and events, please follow us on social media through the links below.
We are extremely proud to have been inducted into the Trip Advisor hall of fame! An award only given to establishments that have earnt a certificate of excellence (itself only awarded to the top 10% of businesses on Trip Advisor in the world) for 5 years running!
Come and say hello and join us for drinks on our south facing garden terrace or a cosy meal by the log fire inside. Dogs are very welcome in the bar and garden.
We look forward to giving you a warm welcome soon!
The Papermakers Arms is part of the rich history of high quality papermaking and hop farming in Plaxtol.
In 1900, local brewery Frederik Leney & Sons Limited had the new Papermakers Arms built near to the site of the original pub, built in the early 1800s. The first licensee was John Clark, who was licensed only to sell beer, for consumption both on and off the premises.
